So I was messing around with my hard drives the other day, and I noticed a metal panel behind the battery, right next to the primary hard drive port. I thought, "What in the world is under there?" So I popped off the screw and, voila! There's an extra, unused PCIe slot! (Maybe it's used for a TV tuner if you have one?)

I'm curious, have any of you other proud Clevo owners put your unused slots to use?

My buddy got excited when he found out, and he's decided to give me an 8GB PCIe SSD he had lying around as a birthday present. :D

It should have 3G / TV branded on the motherboard there, as that is what that slot is for.

May work for the SSD as it seems to have full wiring, but don't hold your breath.

Can Windows 7 use it as Turbo cache or does it appear just like another HDD? The lowest capacity you can buy where I live is 16GB.

Interesting. PCIe would be preferred over SATA for SSD as SSD drive are quickly exceeding SATA speeds.

the W870CU has this extra MiniCard slot under the battery, but it is not suitable for the TV card because unless your system comes originally with one, you will not find a cable for the TV antenna and the barebone of your notebook will not have the IR port for the remote. The 3.75G is also a factory option comes with the W860CU because it comes with built Antenna and a slot for the operator SIM card.
Otherwise, you can add other types of MiniCard but attention this slot don't have PCIe interface, it has USB interface (which is defferent from the USB port that we have outside)
