I can appreciate the fact that most laptop users don't normally use their wired ethernet ports, but if you've experienced problems with the wired ethernet port on your W870CU, please feel free to add the problem description to this thread.
Every so often, my ethernet port will go into a "flapping" mode, switching rapidly between link connected, and link disconnected, states. I thought that the easiest way to recreate the problem would be to put the port under load. I tried testing by copying 30gb of files over the network here, and while I can sometimes get to the failed state by doing this, (I usually have to power off the laptop in order to recover from the failure, but not always), after I reboot, I can usually complete the entire test copy without issue. So sometimes I can go for a while without experiencing any problems with the port.
It happens under Linux and Windows 7, using either the OS provided, or Realtek provided, drivers. I don't use any power saving modes under either OS, I don't overclock anything, and I don't use anything except the default port settings. I'm running the latest BIOS, 1.00.10. It's followed the laptop through different cables, different switch ports, and under different test conditions. Sometimes I will leave the laptop on all night, and when I look at the Linux system log in the morning, I will see the multiple link up/link down messages, with no network traffic going on.
I've sent the laptop back to RJ Tech to see if they can reproduce the problem and determine if the system board needs to be replaced, but I was curious if anyone else has seen some weird, wired ethernet port problems with their W870CUs.
Thanks..

I had a similar issue with my old IBM ThinkPad. Eventually, even the reboots stopped helping and the port died completely. The system still runs great, but the wired port is gone.
