    I have a W870CU and I am not able to connect a second monitor to it. I get the error message "This GPU supports a single display". But this is the GTX 280M. Any other W870CU owners out there using a second monitor successfully? For example, if I enable the Dell 1901FP monitor, it disables the laptop display with the same message.

    Which drivers are you using? People have reported this, and then using a older driver version (or perhaps in your case, updating to the latest driver) resolved it. It's not a hardware issue, I promise.

    I actually had this issue a few weeks ago. Solved it by downloading the 187.62 drivers from the Sager website.

    I had the same problem as you, use the 186.81 drivers but make the change of monitor with the display properties menu of Windows 7 by clicking on the desktop with the right mouse button and choose the menu changing screen resolution, there choose the monitor you want to put as principal, as with the Nvidia control panel gives the least problems for me to give me the 186.81 Drivers

    Thank you. It is true that this is a driver issue. The latest version of Nvidia's GTX 280M drivers do not work. I always try to get the latest drivers when putting together my laptop. First time the latest drivers has downgraded my laptop.

    ===
    Version:186.81 WHQL
    Release Date:2009.08.27
    Operating System:Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit
    Language:English (U.S.)
    File Size:138 MB
    ===

    I resolved the issue by using the drivers on my laptop's driver CD (version 1.00.01). That driver was version 186.47 (\Drivers\02Vga\nv18647\ directory). This is the driver the GUI installs when you click on "Install Video Driver".

    I noticed there is a \Drivers\02Vga\nv18726\ directory also but haven't tried installing it.

    On the CD-ROM version 1.00.01, if you use the autorun GUI and click on Install Drivers --> Install Video Drivers, you get 186.47 dated 07/27/2009.

    On the same CD-ROM, if you browse to directory \Drivers\02Vga\nv18726\ and run setup.exe, you get 187.26 dated 08/28/2009.

    On Nvidia's website, they are offering 1.86.81 dated 08/19/2009. This one has the problem with dual displays.

    Therefore, the best driver is the CD-ROM \Drivers\02Vga\nv18726\ which is actually the latest version also.

    OK, the 186.81 drivers is another problem that when I leave a game in Windows Explorer 7 is get stuck having to restart Windows Explorer 7 for the desktop back to normal, I with all games but with a most.
    Try reinstalling the drivers but when 195.55_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international.exe beta installation is done tells me that I have no hardware compatible with these drivers, and that I download the version of drivers for my Nvidia graphics 280M notebook.

    Greetings

    Don't use the beta drivers. This has happened a few times before.

    I'm using the 186.81 oficiles, but not go very well with windows 7, has several flaws that are not being able to choose either a 2 monitor from the Nvidia control panel and when I leave the games Windows Explorer 7 does not respond well and I get stuck having to restart Windows Explorer 7.

    It must be a W870 specific problem, because I have no problem running an external monitor on my D900F, whatever the driver version.

    I am using windows 7 32 bit and Nvidia 186.81 WHQL drivers for the 280M. Do not know if this problem would happen with more people W870CU Clevo.

    I was the person who reported the problem originally. As I mentioned above, this is fixed by using the right driver.

    Bottom line, don't use the driver on Nvidia's website. Use either driver on the CD that came with the Clevo.
