    Hello there,

I got 2 hard drives, an 80Gb 5400RPM and 250Gb+ 7200RPM. I'd like to get the best possible performance out of them.
On which you'd recommend to install OS and on which Games/Applications?
Installing OS on a 7200RPM hard drive should boost overall performance of the OS and how it would handle the applications and distribute resources. Would games be affected that much as to become a bottleneck in the system on the 5400RPM HDD?

your storage requirements dont seem to be so high. if you have the budget, i suggest you buy a 64 or 80 gb ssd and put the o/s and select apps and games there.
make your 7200rpm your storage drive for games you play less often and data/media

    What about this?
    Storage for the OS:
    1) ST9500420AS, Seagate 500Gb 7200
    2) Intel SSD X25-V 40Gb
    3) Crucial RealSSD C300 64Gb
    4) Samsung PM800
    5) Intel X25-M

    Considerations:
    A) Price 100-150 euro max
    B) Life-span... worried that SSD would die on me
    C) If the SSD is the main storage for the OS, should I keep other applications on HDD to prolong the lifespan of my SSD?

im not that familiar with the samsung and intels but if their all roughly the same price and your ok with the smallish capacity, id pick the c300 since it is sata3 compatible and will have a little future proofing.
from what ive seen in the ssd thread, ssds with sandforce controlers are the best; i think the ones on your list have them but check to be sure.
and although ssd's may show different perforance on benchmarks, theyre real world performance difference is minuscule and would be virtually unnoticable to the average user.

Going to get X25-M G2 80gig SSD. I will install my main OS there, main applications etc.
Not sure if I should set the pagefile reside on the SSD also. Either
    1) 1Gb or 2Gb max of pagefile on SSD, 8Gb Pagelfile on another 80Gb 5400 RPM HDD
    or
2)no pagefile on SSD, 8-12Gb on another HDD.
And my linux would be chilling on my HDD, do not really want it on my SSD :)
