Ive got the 1920*1200 glossy screen for my M57RU-U, and ive got just one problem with it.. theres a stuck pixel on the right side, and its quite visible because its stuck in bright blue :|
Does anyone know if theres a way for me to fix this? It doesnt count as a dead pixel I dont think.. and Im not so happy about sending my notebook back for just one pixel.
Heck if it was a dead pixel it would be ok, but its bright blue.. stands out in almost every situation

Use a stuck pixel fixing program, massage it lightly with an eraser. Let the program run overnight.

    its just 1 pixel

I found that when you play games or watch movies you can't see it.

    or with certian backgrounds.

    WUXGA has many many pixles.

so its not unusual for these screens to have even a few pixels messed up?

    no dude, not unusual.

I have 7 dead pixels in mine on the bottom left side in a line.

I can't see them at all. when certian backgrounds or playing games ever.

you can of course send it back and the next one you get could have 10 dead pixels. and the next 4 dead pixels and so on.

1 dead pixel isn't that bad at all.

perfectionist nutzo's :) you know who you are :D send it back. and then they might get a worse screen than before.

Grab yourself some soft cloth and act like if you are cleaning the screen. Apply some presure(not much!) wile cleaning, making circular moves around the stuck pixel. Sometimes it helps...

Do it with the screen off...

    ;)

Ye, I would be able to send it back and get replaced for free, but as dexgo said im afraid that the next screen will just come with another broken pixel, or even more of em..
Also Id have to ship internationally, was really only planning on sending back if there was a "big" issue

I suppose I am lucky or blind as my screen appears perfect,
I remember getting an early TFT for a pc build I was doing and it had a bright green pixel in the middle (1280x1024) so it was VERY noticeable, and the company didnt want to take the screen back , but as I knew they didnt test return units, I told them it was DOA :)

its a difficult thing, I really dont know if those programs work maybe they do but I would doubt it as its a physical fault, shame you cant identify the pixel, and get a program the turns it off permanently

    Hi.

that`s is a real TV, you can buy them like that.

On the Pixel problem, I did not tell the company about the faulty pixels as, i would have had a problem returning it, so i told them that the display starts to flash after 15 mins or so,

Hey, any faulty pixels is a faulty monitor, don't let anybody tell you anything different, if it bothers you send it back.

that's what it comes down to.

    don't ask us.

ask yourself. if it bothers you send it back.

actually that is the best advice :)

oh and Tinderbox, my wife would never let me have a tv like that in the room :)
plus it would have to be a Danish flag anyway (yeah yeah I know I live in Leeds etc etc.....)

I wouldn't worry about it. I found a stuck red pixel centred on my screen 3 months after purchasing it. After a few weeks it went back to normal. I wouldn't bother massaging it or anything only because it may make matters worse. Just do what I did and ignore and it will eventually go away on it's own.

I had a single hot pixel on my 9262 center right that drove me mad since it was always lite. I took advantage of Sager's 30 day no questions asked (had to pay shipping of course) and ordered a new 9262 from Xotic. No hot pixels and no noticeable dead pixels so far.

I must say, for the amount of money we are spending on these high end laptops, no hot pixels are acceptable.

there are so many pixels bud. so many. and if you go thru it with a fine tooth comb looking for one? you will find one..

if you always look for the faults that's all you end up seeing.

Bright pixels most of the time go away.
It`s dead pixels that stay dead.
I wouldn`t be bother by 1 pixel out of 1920x1200 pixels...In any game, movie and such you can`t notice it unless you`re an absolute trouble looker :D
