I keep reading about people concerned that the higher resolution on the smaller screen will make everything "too small". I don't get this sentiment...you can adjust the font size of your icons as well as other aspects of your desktop and webpages so that you get the best of both worlds...large type/font and crisper images so what's the concern here?

If you want it, and can see it, get it.

IMO, WSXGA+ is more than enough for 15.4 laptop, even WUXGA on 17 inch is small, I ended turning up the DPI setting on my M1730, as it was beginning to destroy my eye sight quite noticeably. I cant imagine what it would be like in 15 inch lappy.

However, the other side of the argument is that, if the texts are too small, just turn up the DPI setting, which somewhat defects the point of having high res screen in the first place.

Ideally you want much higher contrast level, if you want to use WUXGA, which 8662 may, or may not have. I've only seen the glossy WSXGA+ version of 8662, which was pretty washed out comparing to my M1730; though haven't seen another WUXGA 8662 yet. So your better off waiting for an owner to tell you; AFAIK, those panels also often cost more than $150 WSXGA+ version...

I bought my M860(E)TU dedicated to gaming. Small text wasn't the issue, but performance hit was- although you can lower the res.
