    Hey guys

Should I jump the gun and get a Sager 5793 with a T9300 with 4gb of Ram and an 8800GTX or should I wait a month and a half? Im thinking I should wait but I am not sure. The 5793 is a great price. Since it has a Socket P will it be able to be upgraded to the Centrino 2 (Monte) plat?

No, it cannot be upgraded to montevina. the socket just refers to the processor

There is no such thing, the last upgrade they did for users, was only a MB swap and they did not pay the difference. If they do offer such a thing again not only will the MB have to be upgraded, but the case will also. The next model has extra ports on it that aren't on the 5793, like a hdmi. Considering the last upgrade cost 800+ just for the graphics card, wanting to pay to upgrade a 5793 "If" its even going to be available just doesn't make any sense.
You really shouldn't buy the 5793 at this time especially if you can wait, because just like they did a refresh for the Santa Rosa cpu's they will do a refresh for the Montevina Cpu's. While quad core mobile cpu's will be way to expensive when they are released, this time next year they will probably start being pretty common in laptops.

imo there will be only a small amount of advantage for the montevina cpu's over the penryn's.. imo i would only wait if you can and dont need it now.. unless you are holding out for the 9800 imo i dont think it matters much.. the hdmi port is not much of an advantage to me..
