I just returned a gateway FX 7808u because I didn't really like it. The screen was terrible, it was just too huge to carry around, and it has really bad build quality. Not to mention in the long term, I couldn't replace the GPU. It also didn't have quad core support out of the box.

    1. I'm looking for a gaming laptop that isn't huge and I can actually carry around a little...is this good?
    2. Should I get the body paint thing. I have heard that this laptop is pretty bland looking so I was thinking of getting a cool skin...any skins you guys think are tasteful and cool from the gallery (or any picture that you have)?
    3. Should I get a warranty. I use my laptops a lot and lug them around everywhere. I saw that from xotic they have a free 3 year labor. Should I just stick with that or should I buy an actual warranty? If so which one should I get?
    4. I want to get 4gb of RAM and the 1920 matte screen...any other upgrades you guys recommend? Should I upgrade the CPU or should I just upgrade it myself down the line?
    5. Whats a good bag and cooler for this laptop?
    6. Whats the difference between the quadro and the GTX...the quadro seems slower but it is priced higher...whats up with that???
    7. Anything else you want to mention...

For the quatro thing it is a CAD GPU and it cost more because they sell a lot fewer of them for gaming go with the GTX

if you are considering the Clevo M860TU (Sager 8662)... then its pretty much the best 15.4" gaming notebook with portability and raw power
Clevo notebooks are not bland, they are actually very professional and sleek.... getting custom paintjobs or skins are a nice personal touch for those that really want to show off their notebooks
an extended warranty is good for those that are not comfortable with their skills or knowledge to troubleshoot or fix issues themselves
WUXGA and 4GB are good configurations.... as for CPU, it will be up to what you are doing, but a current dual core CPU thats 2.2GHz and up is good enough for gaming and general usage. if you are doing media work (2D/3D editing, converting, mixing, rendering... then look towards a quad-core CPU. But you can always upgrade it yourself later on.
which system are you referring to? in either case check out this thread: Notebook Cooler Buyer's Guide
Quadro's are for those that are working on professional 3D work (with OpenGL programs like Maya, 3ds, Solidworks), if you are just playing games, get a Geforce instead for better performance for price.

Should I get the Sager warranty or the xoticPC warranty (they are the same price).

And should I go for LCD accident insurance.

Well the thing is...I'm a total clutz

PS: Thanks for the quick response. You really answered all of my questions well.

1- As Gophn said, this is one of the most portable gaming notebook that has a high-end card, although I believe this wasn't really for great portability either. After all, it's still 7lbs with a giant power brick and can achieve only 2hrs of battery life. So it's portable but I wouldn't recommand it if you intend to take it with you on a daily basis.
2- Indeed, the laptop is kinda skinny but I like it that way. If you have some money to spend, then why not.
3- I believe the warranty is enough. Also, since the NP8662 is a revision, some stuff have been fixed, like the HDD I think so I don't think you would need a warranty. If you want to get LCD insurance, then get the warranty with it. I don't think you would need to get the insurance since it would be cheaper to ship it back, ask a refund and reorder it.
4- 4GB should be a standard. But for the 1920 screen, you should stick to a 1650 except if you need big res. to do some special stuff or if you need the matte screen. Personally, I find it easier to order the upgrade with the laptop instead of doing it yourself. A P9600 should do the job, P8700 for budget config. If you already have an OS, you can save some money!

You can read my review about the NP8660. It's basically the same as the NP8662 except for the GPU and some minor stuff.

I was bored at work and was doodling in photoshop. I thought they would make a nice skin for a laptop (mostly the first one) because it is simple enough

I made these pictures for sheer kicks:

if you want to throw that on your laptop I can give you the source file. :) just let me know

I do suggest something not to flamboyant so I agree that the first one would be much better on a skin, try avoid too many backgrounds unless you are absolutely sure about it

its 17MB, I can make it smaller or I can try find another way to send it to you so you can edit and play with a bit to your taste, there is a very small upload file size limitation so I can just attach it here. lemme look at rapidshare quick

Umm just to be sure and go back on topic when you ask about whether xoticpc or sager warranty you mean the 3 years labor w/ 1 year parts of xotic or the Sager extended with parts and labor?
If so then I don't think either one should be good since 2 year parts can make a big difference.

looks nice. You just need to tidy up some of the jaggies in the first circle around the skull, and maybe fade the outside of the pic to black (depending on how you want to place it on the laptop - central, or stretched/enlarged to cover entire back panel)
