This has turned into a thread about how good Sager/Clevo is...

As for this life thing, I am a new untested model with an unknown mtbf. Although I did have a defect that caused over voltage, but that is under control now.

I can fully understand if there was a legitimate complaint, but it seems the OP is angry about getting dealt some bad luck. I can't say I wouldn't be frustrated, but there's also the reality of what it is.

All electronics are subject to failure. The likelihood of failure is probably greater with high-performance laptops. What matters most is how the warranty service and support is handled when you do have a problem that needs to be taken care of. It should be a swift and painless fulfillment from the customer's perspective. If there is something legitimate to complain about, it would be poor service rather than poor components. To buy an expensive high-performance system and not purchase the longest extended warranty possible is rolling the dice. I have no experience with Clevo support and warranty service, but as long as they do a great job and take care of business swiftly when you need to use it, that's what truly matters. When any manufacturer gives you a bunch of excuses and it takes a lot of rigmarole and waiting to get stuff fixed, that's a real problem.

My sager 8130 is the first sager I bought. The only component that failed was the fingerprint scanner. My speakers seem to be going bad too, but this is still the best laptop I've had so far.

LOL. Remind me of an old man, eternal optimist (like my grandpa). "My kidneys are failing, and I blew out my knee, I have diabetes and high blood pressure, my hearing is going and lost an eye, but otherwise, I've had a good life"

If you got the carbon fiber skinning, you can be sure that it will come loose somewhere. Mine is coming loose from under the monitor where the hinges are and I barely even move it anywhere. Other than that, cooling seems perfect. It'll be even more perfect once I get the Thermaltake Massive TM in March. I'll probably need a replacement for something around the 10 year mark. But it is not impossible to have a machine running for longer than that without a hardware issue.
