This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Warranty and upgrading

    Curious question about the warranty:

    Does adding RAM and HDDs/SSDs void the warranty as well?

    Only if you install something incorrectly that causes another part of the system to malfunction. Otherwise, no.

    Typically as long as you don't break anything, you're fine. You'd do better to email them directly to obtain a written consent.

    Not if you don't damage anything in the process, but it's always best to go over it with them or your reseller first. Considering Sager has offered DIY upgrade kits in the past for users to upgrade their own systems I don't think they will mind.
