How good and is the warranty coverage on sager/clevo laptops if something breaks down the line? I've seen a lot of stories about right out of the box customer support from resellers; if something is broken then they are top notch about helping get the issue resolved. However, let's say after 16 months, your keyboard fails and all of a sudden the keys u and 9 will no longer be read as input from your computer. How are issues like this normally handles, is quality of service still maintained, and how long would a repair take for this example or any other single part failure?

Depends on the reseller. Sager offers just a standard warranty of 1 year parts and labor, but resellers tend to alter the warranty and increase the coverage for things like labor.

Resellers do tend to offer out-of-warranty support: for example, I fixed a previous customer's 5+ year old Sager laptop by replacing the heatsink fan, and the computer worked good as new. As a customer we got him a discount on labor and parts for the deal. You'll definitely want to ask this question to any reseller you choose as this will be an integral decision to avoid headaches in the far future.

Usually we quote around 5-9 business days for repairs, not including shipping, so it is always something to take into consideration.

    Happy hunting!

ah I didn't mean out of warranty, I meant during, for extended warranties. should have clarified that. the 5-9 business days part was what I was mostly wondering about, as well as general diagnosis process for things that are hardware failures.

Hi, on average - RMA Service takes 3-5 business days plus shipping times. For smaller things like RAM, HDD, Keyboard - we can also send the parts to the user with pictured instructions, so that they can install them themselves, if they prefer. This can save a lot of time. :)

Most repairs never take more than 3 days at the repair depot. Many are done is less. We have had excellent turn around times for this. :)

    I can vouch for this.

I've sent in my machine for

    #1 Dead pixel fix
    #2 component upgrades
    #3 screen upgrade

#1 took 2 days at the depot
#2 component shipping took 3 days to arrive total

To be honest, I nagged Larry to make it as quick as possible, and he never disappointed me. Choose a good reseller as they will always be the front that communicates with thr factory for you.

I'm in the process of dealing with a couple dead pixels on my screen. I haven't even owned the laptop for a month yet and the screen already has issues. Kind of odd, but it happens. I've talked to Larry about how we can deal with it and he has been very helpful! I'll post here again once I resolve the issue and let you all know what my experience was like.
