So, I was planning to buy the NP8130 from XoticPC. The only problem is that from what I have heard is that they have sold out the 460M. My budget is is $1300-1400 maybe 1500 at a stretch. I would like to get one soon, but if one of the options down below are good choices, I can wait.

    My possibilities are:

-Order it now and possibly get an upgrade in graphics card (possibly), but I get a delay in it being sent
-My most favorable option would be this: If I could get the NP8150 with the 6970M upgrade, 8GB of RAM, and windows 7. But, I was having trouble keeping it under $1500, any ideas?
-Order a different computer, possibly an ASUS.
-Or on that might be very beneficial: Wait a bit until NVIDIA comes out with their new GPUs and get another PC that is still around the same budget....

    What would you do?

If those were my options, and I had to have it immediately, I'd go and buy an Asus, they're good machines :)

But I wouldn't suggest waiting for the new GPUs as they are either revisions or minor updates.

The best, and probably not your favorite, option would be to get the 8150.

Another one is to check if another reseller has the cards.

I really did want the Matte screen, this is pretty unfortunate. Mysterious, you have the laptop, is that particular one worth waiting for? Anyone else with some insight?

The 8150 with either 6970 or even 485 will last you a good 2 years before needing to upgrade in my opinion. Even then a gpu upgrade could bring you even further.

Sweet, I am going to try and go for that if the NP8130 will take too long.

Asus is also a neat and cheap notebook manufacturer, not to mention you don't have to wait for build times :)
Amazon.com: ASUS G53JW-XA1 Republic of Gamers 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop: Computer & Accessories

Dont think im trying to give Asus an upper hand, just that a friend got the model before this one and i think its amazing considering he got it for 900 USD..

But! if i had the money i would go with the sager 8130 or 8150, they have far better build quality than ASUS

Why not wait till the GTX 560M arrives? You will get a better graphics card. Plus it shouldn't be too far off. That's what I'd do anyways.

Keep in mind that the 8130 can't be fitted with anything better than a 460m or 560m because without getting a better power brick.

    Are you sure you can't get a 6970M and 4GB under 1500?

I configured (for fun) an 8170 at malibal with those specs (and stock screen) for about 1500 yesterday. The extra RAM and HDD you can put in yourself down the line.

An all stock P150HM w/ 6970M can be had for $1507.38, after cash discount, free shipping.

You do lose out on the Matte, but that can be upgraded later.

The only thing is I also need windows 7, I can buy it there or at the store, but it is still $100. And I would upgrade the RAM to 8GB later, that $50 I am not worried about...

If this could be a solution for you, buy the 8130 without the GPU and without the AC adapter (PSU) and I can sell you brand new 180W PSU + 6790M for $520 shipped.
