Does the D901c come from CLEVO with the same mother board to ALL ODMs?
Or does SAGER use another manufactuer to make "their" mother boards that would be different from say HPs VOODOOpc Brand?
The only reason I ask is because on Falcon NorthWest's Website they qoute
"No "watered down" hardware
Some big PC manufacturers use "watered down" versions of the hardware you want. For instance, a special version of a motherboard or graphics card that cuts a few corners to save them a few bucks. You'll pay for these later in missing features, slower performance and lack of upgradeability. Beware, many of these look similar to the good stuff. Be sure to check model #'s of the hardware you want, and be especially wary of any stripped down "-D" additions to the model #."
I'm just wondering if this has anything to do with the incompatabilities we are seeing.
BTW. I love Falcon Northwest's Website. It would almost be reason enough to buy from them. I think a professional website makes your company look so much more reputable.

Everyone has to use Clevo's stuff... no one can make their own boards.... no chance. -
Thanks for the clerification Gophn

The only difference in motherboards are between the 9260 and the 9261
The 9260 didn't support quad cores
The 9261 does....
Other than that all resellers with be the same... What they get from CLEVO...

And there's nothing "watered down" about Clevo's hardware.
They're probably referring to Dell, whose BIOS's are often stripped of most useful settings for tweaking and such.
There are no restrictions on Clevo BIOS settings. -
Not sure why you think the Clevo's have bios settings for tweaking...
Mine doesn't have any ... which really blows...
Thats the only thing I don't like about my box....
I have no overclocking ability through the bios.....
Very disappointing...

neither does mine no overclocking area or anything like that.. just a standard bios they even removed the tpm from mine which imo sucks

It depends on what you do....
I do virtualization alot......
So the quad cores are definitely the better way to go...
If you do multiple things the quad is way better than the dual..
If you play games, you will probably not see a diference...
In the future, games will likely be coded to take advantage of the quad cores....

Current games do use quad core, like Unreal Tournament 3.

Unreal Engine 3 games (such as Bioshock and UT3) is amazing well-coded to fully utilize multi-core CPUs for best performance and physics calculations.
