I was considering the P151HM/NP8130 and was curious about the weight and bulk of it. The laptop I've been using has been a Dell XPS M1530, it weighs about 6lbs and is pretty thick due to the larger cell battery.

Whatever laptop I end up purchasing will be carried back and forth to school as well.

Hi, here are the dimensions and weight of the P151HM1. I think it's quite portable.

    Height: 1.38-1.69 inches
    Width: 14.80 inches
    Depth: 10.08 inches
    Weight: 6.83 pounds with Battery

I had seen the exact numbers but was wondering what that translates into real world feel. How well does it fit into backpacks, folding it up and carrying it around, opening the lid. How do those dimensions relate to a real world counter part.

Thanks for taking the time to respond though, I was considering Malibal and heard there was a NBR members discount but unable to find specifics other than people talking about it.

This laptop is really portable, I carry this around everywhere on campus.

This looks really professional looks with sturdy build quality.

Also, the laptop seems to be pretty thin for the amount of power it houses.

I was worried about the size too when I first ordered, but it turned out to be way smaller than I had imagined and lighter.

Awesome, I see you have the 150, and I just read the only differences are the screen, build materials (rubber mats) and the power brick. If you had to do it over again would you go for the 150 or the 151?

Hi, you can PM us for the latest NBR deals... also, I use a Lotus P151HM1 for work, and I find it to be very portable... especially for the performance.

    I love tech..

I would go with the 150.

The feel of the rubberized finish is simply svelte and awesome. It also feels more sturdy in your hand when you carry it around in between libraries, classes or so.

Just remember battery life with the 150 isn't going to be as good as the 151, also the power brick is larger.

I can't remember what the website was called, but you can go to it, and input the product dimensions, it will then display to you a size representation. You could input the Dell and the Clevo, so how they differ in size, might give you a better idea?

Someone on here will know which site I am talking about!

The battery life difference will be almost insignificant though. I think the average from reports on the forums is 10-20 minutes difference at most. Typically though because the cards are underclocked on battery they should both be around the same (2-2.5 hours).

Well, I've had my hands on both systems, and while they are fairly close in size machine-wise, the additional weight of the machine, plus what you pick up in the Sager's larger power adapter makes the NP8130/NP8150 at the top end of what I'd like to carry around. (But yes, it is manageable).

Use this thread I started to get an idea of the total size and weight to compare it to your dell adapter. If I still had it near me right now, I could make another comparison picture...

I think I answered my own question, the 151 is 200$ less than the 150 :p

^^^The chassis is the same however, one is paying for a higher power capable machine in the 8150. :)

Yes, the power brick is large. Would be good if a third party could one day make a smaller version...

There are third party 120w for sure- however, they just aren't the same quality. It seems a lot of them can't output the same wattage/voltage that the stock adapters can. The thing with power supplies is that they're often the size they are for a reason. You can only shrink the capacitors, rectifiers, etc so far. Really small and light power supplies can either only produce a small amount of power, or they've skimped on high quality parts.

It boils down to: You can have high quality, high wattage, or light weight- choose any two.
