    Hello Guys,

do you know what causes weird flickering/image on LCD? This happens for no reason, while browsing etc. Win 8 with DVD drivers, udpated to 8,1 no help. See file which explains everything you need. Any help is appreciated.

What happens when you plug in to an external monitor? Any change? What GPU does the unit have?

I believe W230ST has 765M only, non upgradeable. It happens from time to time for no reason, while browsing or looking at the pictures, even when left notebook for couple minutes and returned this is what happened. Restart only helps. Not tested on external LCD, as mentioned before it happends e.i twice a day.

Did you try using the Sager 8.1 drivers they put up on their site? Might be a weird 8.1 compatibility issue since it happened after you updated.

Have you checked your temps, and cleaned your heatsinks? An external monitor would tell if it was a problem with the internal display. While it is happening you can plug in a external monitor. Does it go away on its own, or does a reboot always fix it? Is that what you mean by restart only helps, i.e. only a restart fixes it? Just to be sure, I would run a memory test.

Seconding the external monitor troubleshooting if you can manage it. If you have no issue on an external display, then it could be the [internal] video cable; the connection becomes loose from time to time and the cable may need to be reseated (usually at the LCD panel, where it is pulled on the most).
