Im having some FPS drops in WC3 that makes it lag a little, not much, but enough to affect my gameplay.

It happend a while ago, but I havent bother doing anything about it until now.

I tried a really old driver 177.98 because at that time, I had no FPS drops.

When I let GPU-Z to continue refreshing the sensor screen while I play, the memory downclocked from 900mhz to 200 -> 100. Core from 600hz -> 383 -> 300 -> 200 in a few seconds. Then it can be like this for a minute or so, sometimes less, sometimes a little longer. If I alt-tab to win and to wc3, the FPS drop stops.

Here is a picture of the GPU-Z http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/2139/gpuz.jpg

This seems to happen with every driver I`ve used the last couple of months.

    Anyone having any ideas?

    This only happends in WC3.

what are the temps during the downclocking?

sounds like it could be overheating, which would cause the downclocking.

when was the last time you cleaned out the vents/fan (you are supposed to do it regularly.... once a month).

Forgot, its not overheating. The temps are high 40/low 50 on gpu.

I cleaned it not that long ago.

Are there any programs that can lock the GPU at running max clocks? Maybe that could help?

Create registry entries to disable and enable PowerMizer.

I found this thread, but I have nothing about PowerMizer in the registry at all.

Now I have installed the latest driver, 185.85.

I downloaded a PowerMizer Switch. That worked and no FPS drops in WC3.

But my GPU are running OC all the time with powermizer off (have to reboot to turn it on again). Are there any negatives with running 600core and 900mem all the time? Except heat.

I dont wanna run OC 24/7, are there a program that let me force the GPU to run 100% clocks when I run WC3? Preferably whitout restarting my comp.
