    im looking at getting a new HD and was wondering what would be better 250GB 5,400 RPM or 320GB 5,400 RPM. i plan on adding to my current setup with my 120GB HD and have that one for OS and backup and then have the programs and games on the new HD

    320gb 5400rpm is equal to a 200gb 7200rpm in overall performance due to platter density.

    5400rpm = fast transfer speed
    7200rpm = fast seek time

    The 320GB 5,400rpm - from the benchmarks I've seen, it generally does as well, if not a little better than, the 200GB 7,200rpm

    That's ridiculousely expensive. Not worth more than double the price just to go from 5400 to 7200.

    I originally had just 1x 80GB drive because I was not too sure who the manufacturer of the drive was going to be. Anyways, I now have a 2nd HDD for games now, and it's a Western Digital 5,400 RPM 320GB Scorpio. Performance is great. Games load just as fast as my desktop machine, and in some cases a few seconds faster.
