This is an older model which supports the first gen i7 up to i7 940XM. The max GPU's it supported while it was a current model was the ATI 5870M in SLI.

Any reason why you want to buy an older model supporting SLI/XF? A single HD7970M will still be much more powerful with significantly better battery life and portability.

It depends on price)))) At the moment I'm not ready to pay 1500$ for a new NP150EM or NP170EM

No, but you can try and see. There is a good chance you will be able to upgrade all the way to the 6990M.

    The 6990m works on this laptop (I currently have the X8100 w/ 940xm & 6990m). I haven't tried installing a 2nd 6990m though.
