Pretty high. It should work alright, it works just fine on a M15x, check it out on some of the others thread or on the Alienware forum ;)

    That's what he said! :)

EDIT: I just saw that Clevo folks are ordering the DELL 7970M for their HM P-series boards.
It works for a short while but reports the temps to the EC in a way it doesn't like, which results in automatic shutdown. So you will have to wait for a Clevo 7970M bios or even card.
So as of now don't waste your money on the dell cards...

in any way, eurocom told me they wont ship the cards until they tested them on the HM series, so we should be on the safe side! all the 7970M cards benched so far are Dell cards from Table21 as far as ive understood :)

Hmm strange that worries me now. Will try anyway next week in my P150hm when I got my Dell cards. Could you be more precise about how it reports the temps to the EC ? Do you mean the temps reported were abnormally high which results in a overtemp protection shutdown ? Don't know many people who upgraded their HM with Dell AMD cards though :(

From what I heard the EC thinks its overheating and shuts the system down...guess it needs Clevo vBIOS or someone to modify vbios...It's not good news, but I thought it's better to post this before people waste their money...also heard Clevo cards only late May, sorry :'(

Be careful flashing a Clevo vBios on a Dell card... thats how people bricked Dell 69X0M cards. Worked the other way round though if memory serves me right...
And Dell 7970M really dont work in Clevos. Got info from a reliable source who tested it. The EC just cant read it and shuts the system down.

Im eagerly awaiting for some news from eurocom as well. If the card works fine then its a deal, at least i can upgrade to a better card using my old shell without selling the whole laptop again.
Plus i can still upgrade ram to 1866 and cpu to 2860qm. This will be a very nice and exciting summer indeed :)

Apparently they send a few guys some ES, just to get people hooked in pre-orders.
Once they run out, you will have to wait till end May to get a Clevo sales version.
All apart from the Dell (ES or not) cards not working on Clevos at all (neither HM nor EM).

Prema is that true? So those who have been promised to have their cards shipped after 10th of may will get ES versions?
Because if youre so sure of that information we should contact eurocom about it.
Last time ive checked in with them i was reassured that those arent either ES or Dell cards, but genuine Clevo cards.

EDIT: GOOD NEWS!? OK, got some more input and can confirm that the info that Eurocon currently has Clevo ES cards and are expecting retail one to come arround 10th is correct... so your orders should be fine...as long as they get them to work... ;)

I think NP8690(W860CU) has a better chance to get dell 7970M work as it can take dell version 6900M while NP8150(P150HM) can't.
