    What desktop card can I compare the Nvidia 580m to? (Battlefield 3)

    Im looking at a website that is showing just how powerful of a pc you need to run Battlefield 3 with nice visuals...Im wondering if my 580m can even compare to an Nvidia 560 desktop card? Or what settings will i be able to play battlefield 3 with?

    The 580m is a downclocked version of the 560ti desktop card. It has the same number of shaders and same core revision though.

    I wanna know what resolution they are basing that on. I never use 1080p i always go for 720p which massively improves framerate while still looking great imo.

    I voltmodded my 580m from the default 0.87v to 0.92v and can achieve 560 Ti clocks (822/2000) and a bit more (845/2000) I'm waiting till Thursday to see how it all goes with BF3 :)

    It's console gaming quality. Which i think is just fine to enjoy the game. Especially if you hook the laptop up to a 720p native hdtv.
