Windows can be activated over the internet (i.e. normal way). Usually if you only change a hard disk then you shouldn't have any problems with re-activating online.
If for any reason it fails you will choose to activate over the phone. You will call the number that you'll be given (depending on the country that you choose), go through the recorded instructions and if all goes well you'll be given a confirmation ID. Again if for any reason it fails it will connect you to a phone operator and you'll need to explain to him why you need to re-activate your Windows license. If you say something like the hard disk crashed and had to be replaced he should give you the confirmation ID. -
You will have to re-activate/transfer your retail license only if you change the laptop/motherboard.
I don't think you will not have to deal with this just by changing the SSD/HDD. -
felt relived.
What do I need to do, if I would to Install a New SSD on NP7280/X7200?
