Okay, so i currently own a Alienware M7700 with a P4 3.6 GHZ, 3GB of Ram and a Burned non-working 6800 Ultra Video Card. Now, do i fix the laptop that has burned its secound video card for around 300-500 bucks by buying a used 6800 ultra on ebay or; do i buy a new Sager NP5792 with a 45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300 / 6MB L2 Cache, 2.50GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2GB of ram and a Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX Graphics with 512MB DDR3 Video Memory? Will i see a huge difference in performence? Is it worth spending the 2600 bucks on a new laptop or is my current M7700 still ok? I dont know, what do u guys think? Thanks in advance.

the performance difference on the card alone would be almost MAGICAL. Now I (and this is my own personal opinion here) would go with a less powerful CPU around 2.2 or 2.0, because unless you are doing some architectural work or something very CPU bound then a core 2 duo 2ghz WILL more than meet all your need and beyond for years to come. Also the Clevo ( the maker of the Sager NP5792) build quality is damn good, far beyond your older laptop. The future proof of the 8800m gtx is nice too, 3yrs+ of high setting gaming. Think of it this way. I read on Anandtech that CrYsis will be the most demanding game for 2 yrs or more (more so than Far cry 2) because the crytek2 engine was rather not optimized, with FC2 it is really optimized and will thus render MUCH better on a lower machine, not even counting the 8800m gtx which runs crysis for me (look at my sig) at 1440x900 all options HIGH except some custom .cfgs that are tweaked very high , DX9 at more than 30+ fps. This is not overclocked either. What you certainly can take to the bank is that it is rather costly but I got mine in my sig for under 1800$ US. Eurocom.com and switch the from Canadian dollars to U.S. dollars and get a 5%-10% student discount/military discount as well. Really the high end cpu is not needed, it makes 0-3% difference at the max in todays and more than likely games in the futures difference. Good luck.

I'm delighted with my new NP5792 (config in sig). Now is the time to upgrade, in my opinion.

I got mine for under $2500, including the $150 shipping option from www.discountlaptops.com.

The 579x will run circles around your current system, there's no doubt about that.

You just need to determine if it's financially feasable to spend the money or not. It's well worth it if you are a gamer, but if you aren't, settle for something less or just replace the card because it would be a waste to have all that horsepower and not use it.
