Did you just want the 1 8700m because you want to upgrade when the new 8800m comes out? Otherwise the setup seems kind of like overkill for now. Other than that, seems like a really fare price >.> especially the ram.

PowerNotebooks.com (as that looks like their configuration pages) always has very honest and fair prices. That being said, I'm also curious ff you're going for the 8700M just to upgrade to the 8800M when it comes out? We don't know yet if the 8800M will be fully compliant with the current NP9261/D901C architecture, as Sager/Clevo has made no official announcement. Even though it will be an MXM card, it could require a new motherboard and AC adapter, just like the GeForce 7800 and the GeForce 79xx cards did for the NP9860/80/90/D900T/D900T_U/D900T_X series.

If you are interested in having the 8800M, you may want to wait until Sager makes a concrete announcement about the card before deciding one way or the other whether you will buy the 8700M.

as I said before (somewhere): if the M571RU/D901C are going to require some hardware upgrade to comfort the 8800, I'm gonna sue Clevo for false advertising :p

    >.> It just seems like overkill. The graphics card can't even handle the native res. Kind of curious what you plan to do with a quad core 4 gigs of ram and raid 5?
If anything I'd atleast up the card to a 7950gtx.

What do you mean.... low end intergrated ATI or Nvidia cards support up to 1920x1200 natively.

He is not going to game that much, let alone game with native resolution.

if you are in need of a powerful desktop replacement for videoediting, audio editing/mixing, and any other heavy number crunching tasks.... a quad-core with RAID HDDs in a notebook environment would be a great help.... that would be the point.
