Just wondering how do you clean up your notebook?
I'm thinking about cleaning up my NP8660.
    Can anyone give some suggestions?

I've heard about "compressed air", using it blow up dust. What kind of stuff is that?
And where can I get it?

    Thank you. :D

What do you mean by "light air"?
    Do you use any equipment?

You can buy a can of air at most office supply stores (ie: Staples, office depot, frys...) Also, a clean cloth that is just damp and some good ole fashion elbow grease will work. If you have stubborn grime like from your fingers/wrists, you can use a sanitizer solution (those gel hand sanitizers work great) and just apply to a clean cloth and work the stains out. If you're talking like sticker residue, try some goof-off. You can buy this at most convenient stores. For the screens, you really don't want to use any type of chemical, just a clean terry cloth towel that is damp for hard smudges, but I usually just wipe real good with a lens-cleaning cloth (I have a touchscreen and have never had a problem getting even finger smudges off this way).

    Hope this helps...

imo those sanitizers can be harsh i would personally be careful some have ammonia and very high concetrate alcohal in them like 90%. AVOID GOOF OFF i have seen it ruin the finish on many plastics.. for the sticker residue go get mequires yellow wax at auto zone TRUST ME you will NEVER MEET ANYONE as anal as i am with my finish on my notebooks.. the yellow was INSTANTLY removes left over glue and does NO DAMAGE at all to any surface.. if your system has any matte finishes do not rub to much in one spot or you will "polish" that area making a shiny spot in the matte finish..

trust me im as OCD AS IT COMES... seriously with the finish on my notebooks and cars etc

i 100% PROMISE YOU these things work flawless.....i have VERY high end clients and i recc this to them and they are all very happy with it..

That is very good input. I have personally never had issues with sanitizer or goof-off, but I do use a toughbook and they are kinda hard to ruin. I will definitely be filing away what you suggest to use for other lappys/pcs I come across. Great info!! Rep to you!

So is there any way to say - "buff out" light/minor scratches on a brushed aluminum laptop surface (I have the NP8660). The minor scratches I have are mostly on the lid but some on the palm rest areas. Should I just use the "mequires yellow wax at auto zone" only?

I use a vacuum cleaner and compressed air.

To clean out the fans I hold them under running water and let them dry for 72 hours.
