I bought my 8690 from them, but I tried to order a x7200 back in Feb of this year, and their email replies took over 4 days each time, whereas they used to reply within hours most of the time, even on Sundays. I never even got to phase 2 on my order and just gave up, they never billed my account, so I just canceled eventually. Never could get a hold of them on the phone like I used to, and go look at their site, It hasn't even been updated since like march or april, old upgrade options, nothing new....just strange.
Anyone know anything? I do have one theory, all these new resellers and rebranders popping up like it's going out of style could be one thing, but PC Torque was one of the first, and they always had the fastest service and order processing times. I just don't understandThe whole warranty fiasco was pretty much proven to be the company they had put up the warranty, and PC Torque were for the most part exonerated from what I remember, and they were doing real well even after all of that, so I know it's not that either.

That's why they're not in my guide.

You know, one thing that in the end I think didn't help them at all was their forum presence on NBR. They used to have quite an active community on their own site years ago, but it died out since most came over here. You can bet your marbles guys like Akimox, Baby-Hemi, Justin@Xotic, MALIBAL, and the others get most if not all of their business from this forum directly or indirectly. I know PCT had a rep here, he rarely ever posted and had maybe a few dozen posts, but I think they underestimated this forum and it's power to literally make or break a smaller outfit.
It would be wonderful to own or work for one of these companies, you would be able to hang out on the forums and talk about laptops, the best part? It would be considered " working " ! -
Sheesh -have you looked at their resellerratings lately? 5.63 out of 10.

I thought about ordering from them about 2 months ago, but they didn't seem to have much support/a presence on NBR.
Guess it's a good thing I went with somebody else. -

I always prefer resellers or reps with a large forum presence. That's because everything said is in an open and public forum for everyone to see and they will do their best to help you and show themselves in a positive light.
If you are just dealing via support desk or e-mail, you're just a nameless joe on private emails and support tickets which they can ignore or screw you over without anyone else knowing.
What ever happened to PC Torque?
