    So,

What do you want to see in the next installment of Clevo laptops?

    For me,

    Intel IVY-Bridge
    ATI 7XXXM/nVidia 6XXM (GDDR6)
    SSD (2nd gen)
    2000Mhz DDR4
    1200P RGBLED screen
    Premium Audio
    8X BluRay
    Windows 8

    December/January

    Price...umm...~1000 USD...I keed?

    What do you want?

Well, seeing as to how Sager/Clevo models always seem to be one of the fastest in adopting newly released techs,

Ivy Bridge will come, as well as ATI 7000m and nVidia 600m.
SSD's are mostly like to be user-upgraded, as they turn out to be the cheapest.
DDR4! Let's see how they turn out, I'm really interested as well.
RGBLED screen is going to be a must if Sager really pushes DTRs, only thing sager/clevo seems to lack is the availability of premium screens.

Other than that, I don't really wish for... haha. I have other speakers for audio, and I don't watch blu-ray. Windows 8.. maybe.

What I'm most interested is the backlit keyboard coming in Q4 2011?..
I think I saw a post in the forums about how Sager is planning to introduce the backlit keyboards in late this year.

Also, I would like a HDMI-in. It will come in handy for devices and on-the-go photo editing, etc.

Refined keyboard layout, I like their full-sized keyboards but don't like the implementation of certain individual keys.

Oh I forgot about backlit kb.

    HDMI-in sounds good too.

I also wish ATI/nVidia enables switchable graphics for high-end mobile GFX cards.

I do not know much about kb layout but hopefully, with backlit kb, they might make some physical improvements.

Also, they should totally remove USB 2.0 and make all USB ports V3.0.

I mostly just want Optimus in the higher end notebooks. If I was buying a notebook right now, I would almost definitely get the NP8150, but the only thing that would make me think twice is the lack of Optimus.

Beyond the obvious next generation components that Clevo will surely equip, an RGB screen would be nice (3D would also be a nice bonus). Oh, and it would be great if they brought back the ExpressCard slot and gave their notebooks a backlit keyboard.

And a couple little nitpicks, I would prefer if they had either dedicated media keys or a Fn+Key combo for forward/back (I realize you can set up hotkeys in Winamp, but nevertheless). Also, I've found that powered USB ports are a simple yet very useful feature, so that would also be a great addon.

    just cooling system.

if CLEVO still use 2 turbo fans I hope they will be quiet.

other hardware such as cpu and gpu and audio ,

    no expectation ,

because INTEL or NVIDIA needs more money so they must Launch new products ,

notebook in your hand never win !

Switchable graphics is one thing that would be best for the future models. Backlit KB...well that'd be nice but may pose some rejections for some users.

If they can come up with a way of improving audio on laptops then that will be great. OR in fact, what if, besides the ability to upgrade the normal components, what about implementing new upgradable sound cards as well? But then again, no company has really done that...the USB Turtle Beaches and Creative X-Fis seem to take the ports away.

The lack of express card slots was a bummer as well; was forced to sell off my X-Fi Xpress card away after purchasing the NP8150 :( But many found it useless so maybe this is what Clevo wants; to phase out Xpress slots and create more room for more important items.

    - Premium screens: RGB or IPS options, 120Hz, 2560×1600 or the equivalent 16:9 resolution

    - Manually switchable graphics. You can keep Optimus and PowerXpress away from my Clevo, thanks

Everything else, Clevo already does right.

Back lit keyboards with full numpad.

Better chassis designs (Including high quality plastics).

High end screens, 120hz LED Back lit/IPS.

The inclusion of AMD CPU's and chipsets into their flagship models like the x7200. Zambezi should be an option on the next flagship, as the X6's should have been an option on the x7200 for us price/performance buffs.

Screen like the m17x's RGB and a backlit keyboard. Thats the only way I think they can improve on my p150hm. I really don't care for switchable graphics as the drivers are horrible be it optimus or in-house.

A more practical solution to power useage (im talking about the x7200). Rather than supplying two GIANT PSUs i would prefer just the one thank you very much.

    My list:
    1. RGB LED Screens with option of matte or glossy.
    2. Change the keyboard layout to include dedicated keys for Home, Down Page, Up Page and End. If number lock is disabled they can exist as dedicated keys, however you lose the functionality of the number pad. Apparently no one at Clevo/Sager uses these laptops to edit documents or write code.
    3. Include a backlit keyboard that can be turned on/off.
    4. Try to put more the I/O ports on the back of laptop so I do not have cable connections sprawling from the sides of the laptop.
    5. Docking station.
    6. Replace the Sentilic touchpads (tap-to-scroll) with the Synaptics touchpads to allow finger-slide scrolling.
    7. Replace all USB 2.0 ports with USB 3.0 ports rather than just offer one or two USB 3.0 ports since USB 3.0 is backwards compatible to 2.0 & 1.0 USB.

On the screen front, we aren't offering a good enough screen :p If someone wants to point out a 15.6" or a 17.3" model that comes with a screen you want we can see if we can get it and put it in laptops :) The biggest issue is no one makes an IPS screen in 17.3 or 15.6.. 17" yes 15.4" yes not the same however :)

I thought they were 1920x1080 resolution w/ IPS..

My ultimate list of features for an awesome new model (much of my list is the same as Websurfer's):
    1. LED screen - but it must be WUXGA, as in 1920 x 1200 or higher. Choice of matte or glossy would be excellent.
    2. FIX THE NUMBER PAD! Please put the period where it is supposed to go. If that means making an 18 inch notebook, then Awesome! I want one.
    3. Backlit keyboard, sure, but make sure it can be turned off in hardware and software.
    4. Make sure NO I/O ports are on the front of the laptop.
    5. USB 3.0, and (2) eSATA ports, and HDMI in as well as out. Also perhaps DisplayPort?
    6. Multitouch trackpad.
    7. Finally, ensure that MORE THAN ONE external monitor can be used at the same time as the built in monitor, and at very high resolution as well, even if the framerate is reduced. Some of us need to work as well as game!
All that, with graphics that can be switched, SLI, and LGA 1366 of course.

    Here we go again...

My grievances remain the same as of last year:
    - 16:10 screens with 1920x1200 matte option
    - 1 hour gaming battery life, 2 hour in normal use ( or better said: enough to see one blu-ray movie)
    - better quality speakers.
-keep the weight of the light 17inch model under 4kg.
    - slimmer power adapter

I can't think of anything else right now. I guess that's it. The rest is excellent.

well the most important would be a real battery that can run 2+ hours on power saving mode.

or at least a high capacity batery option on system that have a small batery by default.

-Bigger battery (or option for an extended one)
    -Backlit keyboard
-A better touchpad, close to what the Macbooks have
    -Dedicated pageup and pagedown keys
    -A chipset that isn't recalled

This could be achieved if there were switchable graphics, but as for the high-cap battery, you will have to do some serious battery optimization or else figure out where else to stuff it - its pretty big as it is now, and there really isn't much room for more battery.

My idea for this would be to make the CD/DVD drive removable with no tools, (i.e., flip a switch or lever) and make it possible to stuff a special battery pack in there. Then, you could have multiples of those batteries, and the original one would be a "UPS" battery so that you could switch the drive bay batteries while the machine was running.

Oh, and another improvement for future models: A BIOS that is much more comprehensive and tweakable.

Also, if possible no bottom intakes so I can use it on my lap! Could the intake be on the front and/or sides?

I'll answer this the same way I always answer these dream notebook threads:

    -AMD Trinity APU
    -single Radeon GPU
    -Hybrid Crossfire
    -XGP
    -2048x1152 high color gamut screen
-remove the keypad on the right of the keyboard for a gamepad to the left
-remove the ODD for an extra HDD
    -mini-PCIe SSD support

Yes that would be getting to the limit of practical human eyesight anyway. Sometimes I wonder about 1920x1200 at 17"... but then I watch an HD movie and it is total bliss having it all to myself.
