Any one using programs such as autocad, 3d max, Maya, etc?? if you are what type of resolution do you find to be best?

    WSXGA or WUXGA??

Is wuxga too small? or do you find that you need the realstate that the wuxga provides over the wsxga?

i am trying to decide between the two for the 17" clevo/sager i am spec'ng

I'm using a WUXGA screen to get the most resolution possible for all my work... music, graphics, 2D/3D rendering with Maya as well.

WSXGA+ (1680x1050) is fine too, but for the extra $70-90, i would go for the WUXGA screen.

True that the font size seems small on native 1920x1200, but that can easily be remedied with modifying the Windows Theme, set the font size to large. Open MS Word is pretty interesting in WUXGA, you will actually see 2 documents fit side-to-side with 100% default zoom... cool... :D

WUXGA also helps your notebook become somewhat future-proof, since its 1080p... which means that when there is a good combo BluRay/HD-DVD drive available for notebooks, you can get it and watch True-HD on your screen..... sweet....

What size & resolution screen are you currently using? WUXGA is a very nice resolution on a 17" in my opinion.
