My laptop got bumped by my car door and now when I switch on my laptop, the fan starts , screen stays off and then these hard drive LED and mouse LED starts blinking every few seconds, first mouse LED then just after that, hard drive LED and then few seconds gap, and this continues for long time, like 20-30 minutes and then the laptop suddenly boots the OS and then everything goes on smoothly. I have tried reseating my RAM,f an, CMOS battery and tried formatting the hard-disk wiping the os off, just so thati can get it boot the way it used to, but nothing happens except these blinking stuff.
What is the meaning of those blinking LEDs?

This one is fairly easy to access the parts on. Have you tried another storage drive? If you're using a mechanical drive, it might have sustained minor shock damage.

Yes, I've tried with another hard drive from a friend's laptop, but it was 5400rpm. Same blinking!

    Strange!

See how quickly it boots by removing everything but one stick of RAM and your CPU. If it POSTs (you see the opening splash screen) right away, add one component back in at a time until the problem resurfaces. If the issue is the same, even on minimal hardware, then it could be the motherboard. You can try reflashing the EC and BIOS, but I kind of doubt it's firmware related.

Yes! Saw that just now! Tried booting the laptop with minimum possible spec, cpu, gpu, one RAM stick, WiFi card and cd drive. Same issue again.

After the incident, the laptop would boot but after a really long time, like 20-30 min or even more. So to diagnose I removed my hard disk and formatted it through a friend's system, as I mentioned. So i think the motherboard is repairable, since it did used boot the OS, but after a long time. During that time also it would behave the way it is behaving right now. But after formatting, now nothing comes up the screen! I believe that the issue is fixable. But what all can be loose on motherboard for it to behave like this? Can a damaged motherboard even boot an OS, cuz if it cannot then my motherboard isn't damaged, something's loose? I've tried everything that I've mentioned, what else can a bump to a car door while being in a bag cause?

I tried, no luck! How to reflash bios and ec? I cannot enter the BIOS too. Nothing is showing up on the screen.

Well, it's going to be difficult to flash it if you have no picture... Can you get an picture on an external monitor? And have you noticed any physical damage anywhere (USB ports, video ports, loose screws inside, etc.)?

I do not have enough knowledge to identify a physical damage but as much as I've observed, there are no bent ports or loose screws inside, but I'm not sure. And I tried talking video on a projector from the VGA port, but no luck on that part too!

Sadly, I think your motherboard is on its last leg. It may need to be reworked or replaced. Where did you purchase the notebook from?

Even if it is, it wouldn't cause issues like this.

Okay, that much is good; they should be easy enough to work with on an RMA - which is what I think you'll have to do. Reach out to them and see if they have any other suggestions for you to try before you have to send it in.
