    What is this component in the NP8662/M860TU?

    There is a small access door underneath the Sager NP8662 with a little round button that can be opened with a flat head screwdriver. Here's a photo of it with the whole back panel off. It's in the red box with the arrow to it. It slides back and forth. What is it?

    It's a SIM card slot for connecting to HSDPA networks (or 3/3.5G).

    To use it you also need the HSDPA modem in your 3.5G/TV tuner Mini-PCIE slot (directly above it in the photo)

    I see the HSDPA slot above it which is empty, the red line is obscuring the actual connector. But this is a populated slot and the black thing slides left and right

    Nevermind. It opens up, for some reason it was a bit stuck when I slid it all the way left, but opened it up and looks like a place for a SIM card. Gotcha, thanks. Considering I already pay for a data plan for my smart phone I should see about getting the 3G card and SIM card for this thing.
