Generally when new products come out places will have discounts for the first day. I am buying a P150EM-SE today or sager equivalent depending on who has the best coupons.

Anyone know of any IB specific deals going on?

You won't get any of those TODAY, there usually aren't coupons to speak of (some offer a NBR discount), and discounts are few and far between, don't expect any on a brand new laptop :) Go with the customer service you like, some companies price match, too.

What he said. The only discounts are when the tech is old and they are clearing space for new products. No discounts on new stuff though.

I am having a hard time deciding right now. Malibal has had some really bad reviews lately and it seems as their CSRs are really lacking. They used to be at the top of my list and they also have the best prices. I guess I will wait it out for a little bit.

What did the bad reviews consist of (what did they do wrong)?

Their CSRs were rude and completely uninterested.

Honestly, I just think it's the CSR's problem, not the whole company. Whoever is communicating with the customers is making their entire company look bad. Malibal wasn't always like this...

    This review

    and this one/

however, go back a month in the "MALIBAL Reviews" thread, and you see a bunch of people explaining how the custom service was amazing.

    confuses me too

Thanks for the links awakeN. Does seem like a shame if a few uncaring CSRs are causing issues for everyone. . . .

For price, I would vouch for LPC- digital. Larry seems to have slightly more wiggle room than other resellers for negotiations.

What's that much better about the build quality? Do they add extras to the chassis or something? Every config I've tried on that site is $150+ more than the others.

    +1.

So far XOTIC is the best. They offer memory downgrade, cash rebate, 30$ discount for 1300$ or more and I just like how they sell. Thats my opinion, whats yours? :)

seems like something changed with Malibal, even when people would post something negative they would respond professionally and explain whatever happened.
Now they take stuff personal and are very defensive.

I don't think their product quality has changed but they definitively need to take a look at who is talking to their coustumers.

The price difference evens out. When I was testing my build out on Myth and Xotic, eye for eye the price difference was maybe 20 bucks in favour of xotic, then factor in the NBR discount.

I really liked what Mythlogic did with stress testing their computers before sending it to me, and an RMA would've been out of the question (I'm getting this laptop and leaving NA for 2 months extremely soon after).

The other thing was that they were saying that their warranty turnaround would be more or less a week for major repairs, which was more than I guessed (no-one on live chat over the weekend) I would have with sending mine to xotic, then them going to Sager, then back to xotic, and back to me.

Derek@xotic was still quite nice to deal with and answered my questions promptly, so there was nothing wrong on that front :)

So Myhlogic tests their build because they do the assembly themselves; do other sellers do any kind of similar testing, regardless of being just a reseller or not?

Everyone probably tests it somewhat to make sure it runs and no blatant issues will happen. Mythlogic seems to be extremely certain that they do the most testing on a machine ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/590253-malibal-vs-mythlogic.html#post7647505 ).

EDIT: Found their QA process: http://www.mythlogiccorp.com/laptop_qa.php . Quite comprehensive tbh.

Removed as I wrote this with out really taking everything into consideration and I feel like it is not right to judge someone who is probably really fed up with internet trolls.
