Bought it back in 06, and its coming to an end of its life. To be fair, i ruffed it up quite a biy.
Anyways, half the keyboard is unresponsive, my right hinge is snapped in half. At first i managed to glue it back together, but afterawhile the glue wore off, and now its taped together. The hinge hole is filled with glue and looks beyond repair. And my wireless card has stopped working. Ive tried updating and re-installing drivers several times. Maybe a format can fix it, idk.
Im planing on giving it to my brother, after i get back from Iraq, but i do want to try and fix it up a bit... Any ideas?

Well you could fix it up, by picking up some replacement parts at R&J Tech. You could get a new hinge, keyboard and wireless card there.

LoL. A long long time ago when I was in highschool, the teachers used to say that the pupils with the most used manuals (class books) were the most hard working. I guess you've definitly been a hard user.
The contacts of the keys could be clean, if they are unresponsive because of dust. In any case both wireless card and keyboard can be changed. Maybe there is some very strong glues for fixing the hinge. -
After the glue failed, i tried to snap off the hinge, so it would lay flat when open (it slants up to the right when its open), but it proved far to difficult, and it just ended up making things worse.
And cleaning the contacts didn't work, so i basically broke my laptop even more for nothing....
It still works fine, (minus wireless) it just looks ghetto as hell -
Are you from the uk ?
I sent my D901C (PC MICROWORKS) away to be refurbished - It had a snapped hinge, the case had been scratched/dented * snapped in several place's. I have also had the GPU heatsink's replaced as they would not sell just the Thermal Pads for the VRAM.
The whole case was replaced incuding the keyboard - replaced with UK layout keybaord and new power supply. Laptop looks brand new, cant fault the work that was done on it.
The company was Golden Star UK and was listed on the clevo website for the UK.
Try looking up a service center on the clevo website that is near you - thats all I did.
I bought my laptop 2nd hand & very cheap, so to be fair - most the damage was caused before I got my hands on it.
It was expensive though, but as I paid very little for this laptop I didnt mind as I now have a brand new looking laptop - tempted to to sell it now tho since it looks new lol

3 years is not bad. Why not just buy a new keyboard, and get a external wireless card maybe? Does the screen not stay up with the broken hinge? I'd just get a new hinge. If you are satisfied with the way the laptop performs, just keep it, and keep using it. A couple of hundred to fix it beats paying over a $1000 for a newer gaming laptop.
Also you could sell for parts. The 7950gtx goes for well over $300 on ebay. I think because it's rare. You could probably get $150 for the motherboard or more. -
Plus, my brothers in a bit of a rough spot, and he could use a nice gift like this laptop.
What to do with my old Sager?
