Hi, here is a list of recommended resellers: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...eller-info-read-before-posting.html#resellers - if you plan to carry the laptop around for school, the P151HM1 (8130) might be the better choice since it will give you a little more battery life than the P170HM (8170) and it's lighter - so it'll be easier to carry around.

Also, you might want to contact a few different resellers and ask about discounts, since some of us offer special deals to NBR members. :)

This is a toughie, although I love to game on a 17" the portability aspect of it isn't that great to most people.

If you choose the 15" you can always get an external monitor and hook it up via the DVI port. Both are excellent notebooks though.

Traveling as often as I do for business (a minimum of three days each month), I can tell you that carrying a 17-inch notebook sucks. It's bulky and can get very heavy, which isn't cool when you have to spend a long time in a security checkpoint line.

    Go with the 15-inch.

As everyone else said, the 15in is so much easier for travel.

As to your question about a reseller, I've recently purchased a Pollux 1611 (Clevo P150HM) from Mythlogic, and have since then became an evangelist for them. Their service is great, and their build quality is top-notch. However, talk to Malibal and XoticPC as well, and see which one you feel most comfortable with.

what is your old laptop? is it 15.4" 16:10 ratio, because i just got a p150hm and it much wider than my old 15.4" because its 15.6" 16:9 ratio, so its more like a less tall 16" that has a 16:10 ratio.

I'm curious as to why you're looking at the NP8130 over the 8150. It seems than the biggest advantage of the 8130 is price, but if you're even considering the upgrade to a 17 incher, the 8150 should still be in your budget. Althought the 8130 does have a stock matte screen, and some people may not like the rubberized finish on the 8150.
As for choosing a reseller, as many people on this forum will tell you, you can't go wrong with one the resellers that are active on this forum (Malibal, mythlogic, xotic...). In general those of us who have purchased Sager systems from any one of these resellers has been pretty happy. I personally went with Malibal because they were offering a discount on a RAM, and I preferred the Malibal lettering on the lid as opposed to the Sager lettering you'd get from other resellers. But that's a pretty superficial reason and totally up to personal taste.

On Mythlogic systems, there is no lettering at all, since they are not a Sager reseller, but a builder themselves
