What to test/check first on np9170 with 7970m?

So there used to be a thread about "what to do first with your new Clevo" I thought was stickied but now I can't find it. I'm getting an np9170 on Monday and I want to know what I should be testing first to make sure the only issues I might have are the lack of mature drivers for the 7970m.

So things I know need checking but would appreciate any details on specific apps to use and/or settings, options or specific tests I should be using.

Test memory (memtest86, memtest86+ or windows memory diagnostics).
Test CPU (pcmark? CPUz? ??)
Test gpu (furmark, kumbustor, 3dmark06 and 3dmark11)
Keep an eye on temps (kumbustor, hwinfo, hwmonitor64)

Now I know that the 7970m will most likely be underutilized in 3dmark06 and I might see higher temps unless I get lucky or repaste and maybe even do some foiling to close the gaps between the fan, the heatsink and the outer edge of the case. But is there anything else specifically I should keep an eye out for?

Is there anything else I should be testing right out the gate to make sure the unit I receive is up to snuff? What tests in each of the programs should I be running? Am I missing any program I should be using? Or one listed I shouldn't use?
