What's the sound chip on D900C ? Also, is it Azalia or AC97 compliant ?

    Hello,

On the Clevo website, the D900C's sound chip is listed as Azalia compliant.
    http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/D900C.asp
It should therefore support 192 kHz, 32 bit quality for two channels, and 96 kHz, 32 bit for up to eight channels.

    However, I've seen other sources
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=2043146
say it has a Realtek ALC655, 10-year-old-AC97 compliant sound chip. I went through the datasheet of that thing: it only supports 16-bit, 48 kHZ, 6 channels max (not 8).

Does anyone know what is the soundchip (manufacturer & model number please) inside the Clevo D900C ?

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure Realtek manufactures the chips as well as provides the software/driver packs based on Intel EPS's...

But what do I know, I just work for Intel :D
