The Default is 550/800/1350
I have mine to 550/920/1375
I have NEVER Overclocked and I am probably doing it wrong! I dont know lol.
Anyway, whats the highest, safest overclock performed thus far, an actually runs Crysis without crashing (this is the fault of Crysis, not the GPU, acording to what I understand)
Also, any tips on my quest to overclock?
Thanks!!!

Man, not this thread again. Please use the search button or Google.

i run mine at 600/900/1500. you can safely push it to 620/900/1550. i think you can push it more but i never tested it past that.
edit: Sov beat me. but yeah search through the forum. there's a whole thread dedicated to this. its the gtx 260m overclocking thread. -
my bad sorry. I googled but didn't see this forum.
-
Don't overclock if you don't know what you're doing.
That's rule #1. -
Well, I uninstalled my drivers and installed that one DOX driver (was reading a thread in the ASUS forum about this same GPU) I followed all sorts of steps. Now I just need any safe numbers because I understand you have to keep a ratio between core and shader. I figured asking for clocks is simpler then figuring some out.

what software do you use?

why is soviet banned?

Or maybe our comrade just got to the max level in rep power and the system crashed making him a ghost.
Just kidding, no offense SS

I am at 680/1000/1700 right now, which is the highest clock that I've seen someone else claim on here. I've been able to play Bioshock 2 on this setting for over an hour and absolutely no problems, so I could probably push it further. I was using Nvidia Tools as well, but I couldn't get above 640/950/1600 without overvolting it to 1.05V first. That being said, my laptop sits on top of this thing: http://www.floater.ca/products/cooler/iceAirDesc.htm (and no, the humidifier is not on, nor is the ionization function).
So temperature is not a problem, I have not even hit 60C yet. So the limit on the card is quite high, I just don't know whether I want to push it any further.
PS: This is just my experience, other people posting on here couldn't get even close to those numbers. So whatever you do, keep in mind that everyone's hardware has different limits, including yours - be careful. -
Yes, you should keep the core to shader ratio at 1 to 2.5.
-
amik77, 1000mhz on the memory is quite high. Even though the core doesn`t hit more than 60c, you don`t have a tempsensor for the memory, which I guess is a little higher.
-
Is it quite high as in it might be getting damaged already or that I shouldn't push it any further? I am quite new at this as well, and from what I have read, I understood that if the temperatures are pretty low and there are no issues with performance (e.g. artifacts or stutters) then it's ok.
The reason I was not worried about the temps is due to the massive fan I have underneath and the fact that the core temp is so low (58 at the most, while they hit close to 80 without the fan), that I can't imagine temperatures anywhere else being dangerously high. But if you are saying that there could be damage from simply overclocking it so high, I will turn it down. -
He used the f word.

1000MHz is already the rated maximum for the chip itself. It's high but it's not dangerous. Remember that it is heat that will damage the chips, not the overclock. As long as you keep your temps low, nothing bad will happen.
That made up the lesser amount of the points I hauled in this week. "Someone" thought it would be funny to flag my previous posts after they lost an argument against me after the big infraction from it. -
Good it was just temporary.

Why is it that I get an bluescreen whenever I start ntune or nvmonitor on my W860CU? When I first installed it, it worked. I did not oc or whatever, just wanted to have it as an option. If I start the program now it ends in a bluescreen. I already re-installed it, does not help. I find it a bit weird... games work fine. Seems like a driver error but why all of the sudden and only with ntune/nvmonitor?

this has got to generate more heat than just putting a 280m in there.

btw, 600/900/1500 seem pretty fair?

keep testing but i reached 620/975/1500 MHz voltmodded to 1.05v during 5 hour of testing seems no problem at all driver FW197.75 x64 on windows server 2008 R2 SP1 and average tem is just bit higher than was before 56C not bad i think platform M17x
