I am wondering at what GPU temperature the high fan speed kicks in when operating in auto mode. I know that the fan switches from low to medium at 65C, but I have not reached a high enough temperature yet for the high speed to kick in.

I ran FurMark (1280x1024 full screen) until the GPU temperature leveled off at 79 C but the fan was still running at medium speed. None of my games ever run above 76 C (typically in low to mid 60's medium fan speed).

Has anyone tested this on auto to see what temp the fan kicks into high? Just curious.

    GPU: 9800GT

the fans usually do not kick to max speed (like if you were to toggle it with Fn+1).

Most of these Clevo gaming notebooks do not have their fans kick in until the GPU reaches around ~60C.

My GPU goes all the way to 85C and it stil does not kick to Max Speed.

I think you have to toggle it to max for it to run at that speed.

The cooling is probably already sufficient enough to not require it to go to max.

I think you're right. High speed must be strictly a manual function. I seldom switch it in since I never reach temperatures higher than 79-80C when gaming and never above 41-42C when using non-gaming apps on Desktop.

From the time since I've received my 9262 until now, never has it ever kicked to max speed even with SLI enabled except when I toggle it with FN+1. Max temp. I've ever gotten was about 75C and even then it was like... on medium speed (Not as noisy as max speed but still can be heard running)

i would say it starts spinning faster around the 60-65C mark, then a little faster at 70C.. but usually the temps don't go any higher than that..

just on the fans at max when you think you need them and then you don't have to worry :)

when cpu and gpu both hit the high 80's. (speculation but will test later)
