Xotic PC about two months ago sold the 8800 gtx for upgrades but they do not offer that service any more so I was wondering where you could get the 9800 gtx after market for upgrading?

Is this the mobile GPU? If it is as I am assuming you should call it the 9800M GTX. The 'M' denotes mobile. Mobile GPUs are hard to get. You should say which laptop you want it for and where you got the laptop. If it is a sager like mine you could just call sager and they will send you one. You can call Sager at (800) 741-2219. It is a little higher than $800.

Why are mobile GPU's so hard to find? It seems harder than it ought to be.

Mobile GPUs are harder to find because big brands like Dell don't want you to keep on upgrading your graphics card for $500. Instead they want you to buy a completely new laptop for $2000 dollars. Welcome to american economics.
