My vendor is PCMW but I noticed that their laptop parts (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.) cost too high compared to other vendors. Other vendors won't let me buy from them since I did not buy the laptop from them.
Where can I buy most of the components of the laptop? I want to upgrade the CPU to X9100.

I've noticed a few X9100's on the 'bay, if that helps.
But make sure they are a respected seller, good feedback etc. before buying. -

-
A very popular online auction site.
(Won't post the actual name, as I've be suspended on other forums for mentioning it)

See? It's okay. -
On a seperate note, is it not possible to check if you can buy individual parts from the reputable laptop sellers? -

Looking for a QS in e.bay........
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
what's QS?
-
Qualification Sample.
-
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
Are those the same as the retail ones? What's the difference between ES, QS, and retail?
-
ES - engineering sample, basically one of the first produced CPUs (not retail)
QS - qualification sample, CPU sent to manufacturer's to test compatibility (not retail)
^both are still the manufacturer's (Intel/AMD) property
Retail - revised, legal CPU -

Are there P9700 and T9900 actually available in the market nowadays?
-
No P9700s, but you can get an OEM (not an engineering sample) T9900 from eBay for $435. If I didn't already have this T9800, I'd snatch one.

What's the difference between T9900 and X9100?
-
T9900 = 35w, X9100 = 45w.
X9100 is an extreme chip, and can be overclocked via BIOS, if the notebook allows it (ours doesn't). -
kevindd992002 Notebook Virtuoso
yah. but t9900 is not overclockeable even though the notebook permits it?
-
nope, only extreme chips are OCable via multiplier (if the notebook supports it)
any cpu is OCable via fsb (again if the notebook supports it)
The M860TU does not support either of these methods. -
Wheres the best place to get the rev. board?
Where can I buy M860TU parts?
