I would just use my install disc but i'm currently installing RAGE on my optical drive which takes like 45 minutes. Where can i download the various drivers for the sager np8170. I need the touchpad driver.

Actually, i'm still having a problem, theres no synaptics device option for my touch pad, the touch pad only functions on a basic level, no scrolling or multitouch options anymore and no menu to change the options anymore, anyone know whats going on? I already tried reinstalling the drivers for the touch pad.

Well, on their website they suggest always getting the OEM version...however I don't think Sager units have a version that varies that greatly from the generic version from
Synaptic's website. I'd still suggest it though, you can always uninstall and try the Sager ones again if the generic ones don't work.

I tried the OEM ones from the sager site, which said it was touchpad drivers no mention of synaptics while it installed. And my control panel>mouse>hardware window still shows the touchpad as a genereic ps/2 mouse. Hopefully these synaptic drivers work.

EDIT: Did not work, gave me this error when trying to install them.

Also, this is all the mouse window shows for my devices.

I managed to fix it with the drivers disc that came with my Sager from Xotic PC, strange the touchpad drivers on sager's own website doesn't properly install the synaptics touchpad program.

    Anyways this topic is over.
