The model selection has gotten down to the bottom five!

I really hope this means that the new line is right around the corner, but how soon? I mean there is almost nothing to buy on their site so they basically have no sales.. I was kinda hoping I would be able to see the new line up and decide if I wanted the old line.. I know they are doing it to clear their stock.. but kinda sucks. I am sure I am not the only one..

New line is right around the corner... Probably 2, 3 weeks tops for most.

How long does it normally take the premium price to decrease?

They don't usually have a big premium price but these machines are naturally going to be more expensive on account of DDR4. We are getting to the holiday shopping season though so I imagine they'll have sales around November or so.

For many years Sager has given for the most part, the most 'bang" or power for the money, with quality in mind.

When the new listings and prices are up you will see this.... :)

In addition to the other replies to your question, you will find that when models get to the end of their manufacturing run the price will decrease. This happened with the Haswell models with us and other companies, so the price difference between old and new will be more now than it was 1-3 months ago, before the older models started to reduce in price.

Hmm seems like XMG is the only one with Haswell models left as Sager and other vendors removed it weeks if not a month ago and many local stores don't really drop prices.. maybe I'd find something on newegg.

That's likely a matter of inventory interests. We, for example, see an ebb in receiving a generation of processors once the successors and new systems are about to be released until, eventually, we no longer receive batches of the previous generation CPUs at all (they can still be obtained for warranty/RMA purposes, but I digress).

You might find a few retailers selling down the remaining generation(s), though, or even end users selling their system themselves.

Nope, Eurocom's also selling Haswell models, just not from Sager, but directly from Clevo.

If you are looking at getting a Haswell one, you might want to check with them to see how long they might be offering them. Most companies are transitioning away to Skylake at this point.
