I want to know where the Intel PCH is on the P150EM. I'm running HWInfo and see it's temp at 95C. Me no like that. I want to put a heatsink on it.

A diagram or pic would be nice.

    Thanks

Awesome, thank you. Very happy with my temps now. PCH is holding steady at 70C and my FPU also at 72C max running IntelBurnTest.

I will be ordering super low height memory heatsink this week, just using a very thick thermal pad right now.

Yeah they do tend to get a little ignored for some reason, which means if it gets very stressed it can cause a few issues.

Yes, I noticed on HWInfo it said there was not thermal throttling with the CPU, since it was holding steady at 72C under maximum stressing from IntelBurn, but once I put some thermal on the PCH, seemed to unlock the CPU a bit. That was just my perception, oh well, still glad I did it and look forward to the heatsink.

Hulawafu can you please take a pic of how you applied the pad and what kind of pad did u use ? I also noticed a way back that it was getting much hotter than other parts, but as I googled a bit, it seem to withstand higher temps and tend to get hotter also in other notebooks.

    Thanks

I don't recommend what I did, it's very messy. I cutaway the piece of plastic over the PCH. And I just place a very thick piece of thermal pad over it. Simple. Probably can just use folded piece of thermal tape too.

That is a huge difference. Glad you were able to jerry rig it and get those results. :)

    I will be ordering these:
    Newegg.com - Enzotech BMR-C1 VGA Cooler

They are still too tall but those spikes are thin enough where I don't think it will be problem for me to clip them to the height I need.
