I broke a fin on the GPU's cooling fan and now I'm frankly afraid of running it lest something goes terribly wrong. Is it possible to buy replacement parts? I spoke with a reseller here in my city and they told me they couldn't get parts, only entire barebones, and I'm about a year out of warranty, so I'm not sure what to do.

Googling around a bit throws up sites such as

    http://www.rkcomputer.net/rkcnotebooks/index.php?l=product_detail&p=499

but they all seem to be out of stock, and to be honest, I don't know if any of them are reliable :/

    Any help?

    Thanks!

Don't bother; break off a fin directly opposite of the one already broken. That way it's weight-balanced and there won't be noise issues. Of course, it'd cool a bit less efficient, but don't think you'd even notice that. Could run it as is, too, there's no danger at all, unless you were to break off half the fins on one end, but not the other.

If you want a replacement; just search 'Clevo fan' on ebay and compare visually to yours. The same fans are all re-used in various models, limiting to P170EM only wouldn't show all matching fans.

I wouldn't let that deter you from running it. The worst that will happen is it overheats but there are other safety features to prevent major damage happening from that. If its was just 1 fin from the fan you should be fine.
