From what I've read, the small increase in performance won't be worth the huge cost of a completely new GPU. You can always sell the 6970m, though.
You can always ask Sager/Clevo Resellers. They may sell you the part without the laptop attached. -

Lol, yeah I know for a fact that the 8 series had problems...I do think that a few 9 series were affected as well. I'm not entirely certain though. The point is made however....that ATI's driver issues are a thing of the past.
