I see models named as Batman, Phoenix, etc.

Who gives these models these nicknames? or do forum members just make them up?

I'd like to see an official nickname listing if possible

    - @jaybee83 (IIRC) named the P7xxDMx 'Batman' due to it's combined heatsink looking like the shape of the 'Darknight': WRONG: See HERE

    - @Prema :) named P870DMx 'Phoenix' due to it's large single GPU heatsink reminding him of his own avatar, a 'phoenix spreading its wings', as well as the insider info that this was going to be Clevo's new SLI design going forward over the next few refresh generations. So born out of the ashes time and again. ;)

    - The P775DMx was named 'Wingman' due to being Clevo's strongest single GPU system that was accompanying the release of the P870DM (Phoenix) model.
    - P64xRx was named 'Wave' due to the design on its LID

Maybe the P870DM3/NP9873 should be the battle axe with the CPU heatsink connected area being the handle :)

haha almost correct, actually :D it started with the ZM series´s lids, those etched lines kinda looked like bat-ears. that and the overall black color, including the unified heatsink, led to the "Batman" :D we actually started calling the P6 series "Robin" because of their "sidekick" character compared to the P7 series ;)

also, here i thought the Phoenix had its name derived from your Prema icon? (the phoenix like bird on your profile pic) since you were planning to make it YOUR OWN a.k.a. the Phoenix Edition :)

The GPU part of the 'GRID' heatsink really could work as one. :D

That too, as well as the insider info that this was going to be Clevo's new SLI design going forward over the next few refresh generations. So rising from the ashes time and again...

Right also on the 'Robin' name, totally spaced that...

Nope, that has a much longer history and my avatar/logo was already paintbrushed to the LID of my P170HM3 in 2010/11

So why isn't the P870DM3 not worthy of a new name since it has a vapor chamber heatsink maybe call it Vulcan or Cobra

Or, maybe the "Full Fan" Turbinator" ? ;)

I coined the Tornado name a while back - but was thinking of that name to apply to the P870DM3.

F5 is a load balancer, so I wouldn't have added that to the name, that's all Eurocom's contribution to the Tornado F5 ;)

well the DM2/3 series are all still based on the same chassis, so no need for new names (yet), just iterations ^^
