    Which 'PC game' or 'application' must you install to PROVE that your laptop is powerful?

    Actually, my friend has got a new laptop.
    I looked at the spec and it seems ok~

    and he asks me, so.....
    which game or application do you recommend i install
    to test it's POWER?

    and i replied Doom 3?

    but yeah, i dont know~
    im not that updated with games or applications which requires an 'impossible' computer specifciation. Im assuming that you guys are more updated then me.

    You can tell him Oblivion, it really kills most machines.
    Another good choice is 3DMark05, then he can check his score against those in the 3DMark table.

    I would recommend to benchmark w/ 3DMark06
    ... which is much more up-to-date [w/ multi-thread support] than the old 3DMark05 [single-threaded..."yuck!" for those that have dual cores]

    And yes try Oblivion, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, CoH, C&C3, etc...

    3dMark definitely. That is *made* to bring all systems to their knees. Both Oblivion, Doom3, Stalker and any other game are made to run smoothly. 3dMark is almost made *not* to do so...

    To gauge overall system performance, you could install one of Futuremark's PCMark suites.

    Supreme Commander with near max unit's on two sides.... then send everything from both sides to one location to fight... (will want two people)

    Make sure game it maxed.
