My gtx670m graphic card burned and I want to buy used graphic card.
There are 2 options for my p150em, Gtx670m and Amd 7970m same price 200 $ in
my country. My power adapter 19 V - 9.47 A (180 Watt) and my Bios version Prema Mod v2.
Which should I choose graphic card performance for gaming ?

the 7970M will pretty much destroy the 670M, so if gaming if your main focus, i would definitely to the AMD route :)

youre basically looking at more than double the performance: http://www.notebookcheck.com/Mobile-Grafikkarten-Benchmarkliste.735.0.html

btw, since u already have premamod installed: u might also wanna check out the 970M (if its in your budget). that will again be another 60% faster than the 7970M, thus more than THREE times as fast as the 670M :)

I found cheap 7970m for me. Do cause any problems this bios and power adapter with 7970m ?

since the EM series was introduced with the 7970M, i dont see any problems with functionality or power consumption, as long as u dont plan on overclocking both the gpu and cpu to the max, then a modded 240W alienware psu would become necessary...

looks like in the OP´s case a tight budget is the main factor here :)

nope, unfortunately not. the EM series supports up to 680M / 7970M and then the 900M series by use of premamod. 700M and 800M gpus are excluded...

A 900M series card would be fantastic if your budget allows it. Otherwise the 7970M might be your ideal choice; it's a very good value card (and still very powerful).

If anyone other than Prema can't address this, you can contact Prema personally (PM here or through his site).

The 8970M/M290X has worked in the P150EM. Try getting one intended for an enduro machine like the P150SM though rather than P370 series.

be careful for amd/ati, because model from p37x doesnt work on p150em. you need dedicated gpu to your notebook. clevo have few version (v1.1/1.2) with enduro and w/o enduro.
the best way is gtx 680m or generation 9 which work without problem with stock bios, but you need mod drivers.

If you swap to AMD make sure you get the proper (AMD) Heat sink as it differs from the Nvidia ones.

Otherwise get the 970m then you don't have to waste money in acquiring an AMD compatible Heat sink! ;)

Pro Tip: Get the 970m + P150SM Heat sink. In this case you have a very powerful rig which cools well the card and brings you Joy the next 3-4 years. Even if it may cost you about 350 Bucks.

I have a p151em that came with a HD8970M and it is fine choice if you are on a budget. I upgraded to a gtx970m and not could be happier that I did. If you can save a bit more and find a gtx970m do it . I am running a single piece heatsink . I do not think there is a AMD or Nvidia specific heatsink. Just make sure the heatsink comes with the pads for cooling the chips on the card. The AMD card requires a rather thick piece for one of the chips about 5-6 mm would be my guess .

You do need to move the pads if you have a heatsink for a different chip.
