    Hi all.

I am planing to buy a new laptop (I know about the wrong topic, but in the other one people will recommend you the laptops). I am more interested about information about 2 Sager ones. It will be really great, if someone who knows little bit more about Sager could post some guide lines:
First one is Sager NP8662 (Built on Clevo M860TU) with parameters:

This one would fit just fine into the parameters i am looking for, but like I posted earlier the 17" screen would be better. Thou I checked 17" laptops from Xotic PC and found this one, Sager NP5797 (Built on Clevo M570ETU).

17" WUXGA "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1920x1200)

This is more expensive (but bearable). Also checked Sager NP9280, but with Windows 7 it will be 2.5k. That is to much I think. It will lose most from my investment with few month and after 2 years (hopefully it will last this long), it will be worth even less. I had really bad experience with my last laptop (the cost was 2.5K and first problems started after few month's and now it just wont accept power). So i would really need some ideas before making my next purchase.
I really would like 17" screen, but is 400$ worth the money of going to more expensive model. Also I can save 150$ not taking the win7 and use my windows XP or MCE (worst case I can use my Vista). I don't like piracy but if the situation demands of using win7, I can even use pirate copy of it.
The second point where to keep up some money is processor. If I would go for the cheapest processor, they are offering for Sager NP5797 :
    Intel® P8700 45nm "Montevina" Core™2 Duo 2.53GHz w/3MB L2 On-die cache - 1066MHz FSB 25 watt
I could also save 165$. Is the Q9000 worth the money, because mostly the bottleneck for laptop isn't the processor, but the graphical card and 280 is certainly better then 260.

The other option is just go on to best buy and but the asus G71GX-RX05 with less then 1500$ (with tax and shipping) and be happy with it.
Or squeeze my belt and go for the Sager NP9280. It is better then other two Sagers mention upwards, but is it worth it. (just better processor, I wouldn't have money to buy extra hard drives) I hope to get some comments what would make deciding easier??
    Thank you all

    1) What is your budget?
1200$-2000$ (For a very good one I can pay little bit more, but don't want to make huge investment, that will lose most of its price)
    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen (it may be smaller)

    3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.
    USA
    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

    a. Like: Sager (Clevo)
    b. Dislike: HP - quality issues and don't like the design

    5) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Gaming, the laptop should be able to run difficult calculations,
    6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
I going to use it mostly at my home (desk, couch or bed) sometimes taking it
outside to walk with me. Weight isn't a big issue. But using it as a laptop not a desktop what will be limited to the desk use. I am usually sitting on bed with laptop (it shouldn't be to bulky)
    7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games or types of games?
Yes and CIV4 (not very demanding), diablo 3, fallout 3, GTA4 etc.
    8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Not important, 2h will be OK and most laptops can work that long.
    9) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
    Buying online
    10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
Windows XP, or Vista (with win7 upgrade).
    Screen Specifics

    11) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
WSXGA+ or WUXGA. It maybe lower.

    12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

It is not important. Glossy would be nice.

    13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
    NO
    14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
    2-3 years
    Notebook Components
    2-3 years
    15) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 500GB? Do you want a SSD drive?
320 GB is just fine (and its usually included)
    16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?
    Yes. At least DVD Burner

My last laptop was LG business class (very slim and light weighed 17" notebook), but no support what so ever. I had issues and returned it to the reseller for warranty repair. It took 1 month to repair it, got really a lot of promises that it will be fixed within few days, finally i wrote a official letter to the company manager saying that i want full refund. Next day the computer was fixed and they returned it for me. I am trying not to deal with that company any more and I am simply accepting a fact that that money is gone :(
