I have been torn between the normal 1080 display and the IPS 1080 display w/ G-sync.
I had heard that NVidia's Optimus software didn't work with G-sync displays. So, I am stuck between having better visuals with the IPS, or have a better battery life with the normal display and NVidia's optimus software.
There is also the backlight bleed lottery. Which one would have less chance to have bleed?
Finally, is the normal display a TN display? All the Sager page mentions is that it is FHD.

I would say get the display with G-sync. IPS panel is a must for gaming laptop nowadays. Also, NVidia's optimus technology aren't for G-sync, however, Sager np8657 has "MUXED" technology that you can choose either intel graphic's card or NVidia graphics card. - It is close to MSI GT72's switchable graphics card.

You are absolutely right on that, you do have the option to change between the hybrid or discrete set up, based on what you are wanting. If you get the model without GSync, then you can't just turn on GSync through software, but with GSync, you could turn it off to switch back to hybrid if you want. So if you are on the fence, going with the Gsync option does give you a little more options, plus the screen looks a little better as well.

Yes, the latest mobile models are extremely flexible in that regard so you can run the best way to suit you at any time. Best of both worlds
I would personally recommend the G-sync if you play anything using rapid movement. -

Well... at this point, I will just wait for Pascal gpu laptop. It is going to be much more powerful than Maxwell laptop.
Also, only con for g-sync (laptop ver) is probably it is not proper g - sync. It is more close to Free-sync. -

That is still not announced yet and under NDA's. People who know about release dates, specs, pricing, etc... aren't allowed to say. So anything out there right now is just rumors. Once you see official announcements from parts manufacturers, that is when you will start to see information coming out from the computer makers.

What you can be sure of is that any machines produced will be carefully designed to operate properly.

Although this is off topic, could someone please give me a shed of light that the next clevos with pascals will have similar slim design as the p650, with minimal or no thermal issues? I just like its overall dimensions compared to other thin laptops which have heating problems. What are your suggestions, should i pull the trigger on this one or wait for the pascals? Thanks everyone!

Clevo did show off an updated version of the P650 at Computex this year, but no other specs/details are really available beyond what they had displayed at their booth.
