I know that the NP8290 (P177SM) has more of a gamer look while the NP8270 (P170SM) looks a little more austere.
- Could someone say something about the build quality? Does one feel more solid than the other?
- Do they have the same size and feel trackpad and keyboard?
- Right now the 8270 I'm about to buy outspecs the 8290 for the same price. Could someone comment on this so I don't get the 8270 and then regret not getting the 8290 or vice versa?
Cheers.

Also, does the 8270 have a multi-touch trackpad and 2-finger scrolling capability? XoticPC advertises the 8290 as having this but says nothing about the 8270, while Clevo's website makes it seem like they both have the same trackpad.

Personally, I would hold off until the Sager mSATA problem gets resolved. I'm looking forward to Mythlogic addressing this as they advertise TWO mSATA slots on their builds. At this hour I haven't inquired, Their live chat is actually not online at 3:30am. XD

It is present but right now it's proven to be unstable, the email we received made it seem that this was an issue on the Clevo side of things so should affect all units, and it concerns the possibility of dropped data connection. It's something that's being worked on and fixable in a future update, but as of right now the configurations are only being offered as a single Msata configuration in light of this. Hopefully that clears up some of the mystery for you folks." -
well, shouldnt be a problem for the OP as long as he is "only" going to use one mSATA and two 2.5" drives
aside from that, id guess theres not much difference concerning the build qualities of the two models. for further details u can also check these notebookcheck reviews here:

Well I doubt it's usage critical like the graphics card
