    I live in Vancouver BC.

    I checked out: About Us

XoticPC doesn't seem to have the non SB laptops.
Any other options? Anyone ordered from LPC before?

Warranty all the same across those retailers?

I'm spending $3000 plus so I want to make sure I get good customer support.

SAGER not have accidental like Dell does?

If you are looking for a current Clevo model, the X7200 is your best bet. Also, Sager doesn't offer accidental protection, but you might find this type of warranty through a reseller. You can check the sticky in this forum for a list of resellers.

A lot of Sager retailers have great customer support, and the community here will also help you out very much (if any issues arise) ... regardless of who you buy from.

Larry/Babyhemi is very active on these threads and seems to be a good guy. I recently ordered an 8150/485 from him and am still waiting until Intel can get its act together (or whenever my horoscope says uranus is finally aligned with urectum)--

Last time I looked, LPC has a reseller rating of 10 (out of 10).

LPC is a good reseller, and so are most of the Sager/Clevo resellers. I myself orderd from LPC, but was forced to refund due to delays and travel conditions. The refund was swift and well communicated, and in just 1 - 2 days of communicating, my international refund was processed.

Larry and LPC-Digital is top notch. spoke regularly with him before, during and after purchase. All the resellers are reputable, but after speaking with Larry, he had the best price and fastest shipment to me.

I see you are from Canada, check out Reflexnotebook. They'll save you the hassle of import duties, have great service. They are located in Montreal.

There are no import duties on notebooks shipping from the US to Canada. If you purchase a notebook from the US, the only taxes you pay are GST / PST depending on where you live in Canada. These are the same taxes you will pay if you purchase a notebook locally in Canada.

The only additional fee you might pay if you purchase from the US, is a small brokerage fee: UPS: Rates for Customs Clearance into Canada - which is waived if you get UPS express shipping.

I remember when I ordered my M860ETU ($1,500) from the states I had to pay $170 in taxes, I then ordered a $400 Mobo from the states and Fedex charged me $100 because of the "speedy" delivery through customs.

I advise you to not use Fedex, use USPS or UPS like Malibal said. I think if you pay for Air mail Fedex waives the fees

It may be more because of the dreaded HST(Ontario).

Both LPC-Digital and XoticPC are great resellers and highly recommended!

As others have mentioned there are no duties on laptop clearance in Canada.
One important thing to consider is the warranty service shipping costs and time frames. Having a local reseller helps in both aspects. You should discuss all the details with your reseller, they may have special offers for such cases. Worth a shot anyway :)

I ordered from LPC, and I can say it is definitely a top notch reseller, with Larry/Babyhemi offering excellent customer service.

That being said, I had spoken with some of the other resellers as well, and none of them are bad. Many are also very helpful and active in NBR. Larry/LPC just left me with a better impression, so I decided to go with them.

Talk to a few resellers so you can get a better feel before making your decision. It doesn't hurt. :)

And also get quotes from many resellers.

They give you different quotes, and also watch out for the shipping fees, some come with free ground shipping, and that lured me into the deal with LPC, as I was able to save $30+ on shipping fees that some resellers charge extra to the quotes..
